Matt McClusky of WNER 1410, the Watertown-based ESPN Radio affiliate, is reporting on his Twitter feed that Fabricio de Melo, one of Syracuse’s most talented prospects since Carmelo Anthony, will give his verbal commitment at 10:00 a.m. EST Tuesday at a press conference. More to come after the announcement, however it pans out.

Louisville and Syracuse are reported to be neck-and-neck for Melo’s services, with Miami and Florida completing his final list. Should he don the Orange hat, Melo would instantly become the crown jewel of an already-stellar 2010 class that includes CJ Fair, Baye Moussa Keita and Dion Waiters.
