Week 14 Predictions
Just because the season is over for the Orange doesn’t mean there aren’t Big East games. Time to wrap up the final pre-bowl game picks and see if we can’t finish in the black this year. Again, all lines used are provided here:
Last Week: 4-1 Year to date: 54-11
ATS: 2-3 Year to date: 28-24
West Virginia at Rutgers: Line RU -1.5;O/U 45. WV spoiled any chance of a huge BE title game by knocking off Pitt in the BYB. Rutgers sent Louisville out with a thumping on Black Friday that left Coach Kragthorpe on the corner with the Salvation Army. The Mountaineers defense really stepped up and of course the break away ability of Noel Devine will keep the Knights on their toes. Rutgers crushed the Cards with the Wildcat, I don’t think that will fly this week. The ‘Eers getting points is too tempting to take as I think they should win outright – WV 24 Rutgers 20.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh: Line UC -2;O/U 58. The schedule makers hit a home run as this contest will determine the BCS rep out of the BE. The game lost some pizazz though with Pitt’s tumble last week. Cincy’s defense has been pretty porous the last several weeks. Dion Lewis could be a huge factor if he can help Pitt control the clock. However those drives must end with points because Cincy is so quick strike when they get the ball. These were the two teams that I picked to finish 1-2 in the preseason. I picked Pitt in the preseason but I’m going to back off that stance this week as Cincy is on a mission. Take the Bearcats in a very entertaining game – 34 – 30.
South Florida at UConn: Line UConn -7;O/U 50.5. South Florida is like Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde, awesome at home and pedestrian on the road in BE play. They were just terrible against Rutgers and struggled last week against Miami. UConn seems to have turned the corner on the Jazz Howard saga, winning their last two. I don’t think that the Bulls will find the weather to be to their liking so I’m taking the Huskies to finish off the season on high note. UConn wins 27-17.
